Subject Leader for RSHE - Harriet Holdsworth
My name is Harriet Holdsworth, and I am the Subject Leader for RSHE. Alongside PSHE, RSHE was one of the first subjects I led in my primary teaching career. Since then, I have continued to develop my knowledge and expertise and have had the opportunity to deliver RSHE training to other schools.
I believe that RSHE is a vital part of the curriculum because it helps to prepare our children for life in the wider world and provides them with a strong understanding of safe, healthy and respectful relationships. It creates a safe and supportive environment in which children can explore important topics, ask questions and develop the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to make informed choices.
RSHE also provides children with valuable opportunities to develop their confidence, resilience and understanding of themselves and others. It encourages them to recognise and manage their emotions, build positive relationships and develop the skills they need to navigate an ever-changing world with confidence.
As RSHE Subject Leader, my aim is to ensure that our children feel safe, confident and supported when taking part in open and respectful discussions about a range of topics. I want them to develop the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions, build healthy relationships and manage the challenges and opportunities they may encounter throughout their lives.
