Subject Leader for Geography – Jordan Gibbon

My name is Jordan Gibbon and I am the Subject Leader for Geography. My passion for the subject comes from a deep love of nature and a fascination with exploring the world through travel, discovering different landscapes, environments, and cultures firsthand.

My vision for Geography aligns closely with the core purpose of the National Curriculum; I want to inspire in our children a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. I want our pupils to develop a strong contextual knowledge of globally significant places, understanding both their defining physical characteristics and human features.

Through our curriculum, my aim is to equip children with essential geographical skills, from reading maps and interpreting diagrams to conducting hands-on fieldwork in our local area.

Crucially, I want our children to understand the natural world around them, appreciate the diverse environments across the globe, and recognise their responsibility in caring for our planet's future.
